Zirconium tetrachloride, molecular formula ZrCl4, is a white and shiny crystal or powder that is easily deliquescent. Unpurified crude zirconium tetrachloride is light yellow, and purified refined zirconium tetrachloride is light pink. It is a raw material for the industrial production of  zirconium metal and zirconium oxychloride. It is also used as an analytical reagent, an organic synthesis catalyst, a waterproofing agent, and a tanning agent. It is also used as a catalyst in pharmaceutical factories.
